The MATLAB Simulation & Plotting Lab is the engineering foundation on which Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence students rely to visualise data mathematically, analyse signals visually, and turn abstract equations into understandable interactive graphics
Vision
To create a pioneering engineering environment based on visualisation and software simulation, aimed at enabling students to turn complex mathematical and theoretical models into accurate graphs and interactive simulation models that support decision-making and the development of intelligent systems.
Mission
To equip students with the basic and advanced skills needed to use MATLAB as an analytical and graphical tool. The laboratory focuses on training students in data processing, plotting 2D and 3D graphs, and building dynamic simulation models, helping to deepen their understanding of engineering pathways and artificial intelligence projects.
Core Laboratory Objectives (Lab Objectives)
Plotting Mastery: training students to plot mathematical functions and signals using basic and advanced commands (such as plot, stem, scatter, bar).
3D Visualization: enabling students to represent complex data and matrices in three-dimensional spaces using commands such as plot3, mesh and surf (very important for visualising data distribution in artificial intelligence).
Signal processing and frequency analysis: using graphs to display signals in the time and frequency domains (such as plotting the Fourier transform and tuning signal filters).
Engineering customisation of graphs: teaching students how to add titles (title), label axes (xlabel, ylabel) and add legends (legend) to make a graph suitable for scientific publication or engineering reports.
Animation & Simulation: training students to create animated graphs that change over time to simulate the motion of systems or continuous data flow.
