On the morning of Monday 6 / May / 2024, the University Presidency received the ministerial committee tasked with carrying out the field inspection of the University's proposed new establishments for the 2024 – 2025 academic year. The ministerial committee was received by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, the Assistant Presidents for Administrative and Scientific Affairs, and a number of college deans.
The Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Raed Majeed Jabbar, who accompanied the committee during its field tour, stated: “The University is in the process of establishing a number of formations, including the establishment of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, the Department of English Language and the Department of Chemistry in the College of Education for Girls, as well as the establishment of the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering
” He added: “The ministerial committee reviewed the available human resources of teaching staff and employees for these new establishments, and also inspected the buildings, classrooms, laboratories and equipment and their suitability for the establishment requirements”, noting that “the proposed establishments came in response to actual need and the requirements of the labour market, and in line with the University's plan”
For its part, the committee, chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ghassan Nashat Mohammed, praised the efforts made by the University, particularly in providing infrastructure and achieving tangible steps in building the University within a short period of its life.
