Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Girls Holds a Cultural Short Story Festival Entitled (The Deferred Narrative)

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah,

and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Girls, Prof. Dr. Afrah Abd Maktouf,

the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Girls organised the activities of the cultural short story festival entitled

(The Deferred Narrative), proceeding from the University's pioneering role in supporting cultural and literary activity, and coinciding with the celebration of World Arabic Language Day.

The festival was held on Tuesday, 16 / 12 / 2025, in the Discussion Hall of the College of Education for Girls, with distinguished attendance by teaching staff and researchers, alongside students of the literary and scientific departments, in a cultural atmosphere that reflected the importance of storytelling in the contemporary literary scene.

A specialised jury undertook the task of evaluating the participating literary works, consisting of:

1. Asst. Prof. Dr. Kadhim Khudhair Kadhim

2. Asst. Prof. Dr. Adnan Rasmi Yasser

3. Lect. Dr. Khalid Raheem Bayesh

Through its results and content, the festival affirmed the commitment of the academic institution to supporting young talent and strengthening the standing of the Arabic language as an incubator of knowledge and creativity, as well as providing a stimulating environment for literary research and the arts of narrative, contributing to raising the cultural scene inside and outside the University.
